See the Magic in Action: Live-Recorded Story Time with Laura Teichen
Yesterday, Lulu and I hosted a family story time event at Barnes & Noble Frisco, and it was one of those experiences that I will cherish forever. I’ve always enjoyed reading books to my toddler but there is something special about sharing joy with strangers. I am beyond grateful to be able to spread my message of choosing happiness with more families.
About the Book
When I Grow Up, What Will I Be? Discover the magic of being yourself. A sweet journey through the many things you can become, and the one thing you should never forget to be.
Experience the Magic
Whether you’re a parent, educator, or fellow author, I hope this video gives you a glimpse into the joy, connection, and heart that fill every story time we share.
Please consider supporting the authors by leaving a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or by sharing a photo of you enjoying the book with your little one on social media and tagging @MoonbeamLearningStudio
Thank you to everyone who joined us in person for the event. Thank you to my friends and family for cheering me on in spirit. If you missed this event, don’t fret – there will be more in the future! Follow us on social media or subscribe to our studio blog to stay in the know.
The Little Dreamers Who Made the Event Magical
Here are some little moments of joy and connection that are reminders to me of how stories bring us together, how children see the world with wonder, and how lucky I am to be part of their reading journey:
- There were the two sisters whose laughter filled the space as they proudly announced what they wanted to be when they grow up… a fish and a cat. Their joy was contagious.
- A grandma, a pilot and his newborn son sat close by and just as we began reading, the baby opened his eyes just in time to hear the story.
- A little boy colored quietly beside his mama, and pet Lulu goodbye before leaving.
- Another little boy wanted to be an astronaut and go to Antartica to see penguins.
- A confident seven‑year‑old told me she wanted to be a princess someday, but I can already tell she is one.
- My son wanted to be a doctor and flipped through the pages on his little chair next to me reading along the whole time.
- My niece and the other kids at the event proudly showed me their whale drawings, each one unique and full of personality.

My “Name In Lights” Moment
Seeing my book in the Barnes & Noble Frisco store was so surreal! And what made it even better is that I was surrounded by family who believe in me. My husband & co-author, Alex, was radiating pride and I felt so supported by him. My son ran up to me and said “Mama, I went to your office!”. My mom sat beside me during the Meet the Author portion and kept me company. My niece and sister-in-law drove an hour to attend the event and my niece gave me the stickers she won. I love my family!!!
